Hi everyone, So this Sunday has finally arrived and I will be performing my world music at the House Of Lebanon Annual Event May 20^th at 2pm. The event is from 1-6pm and I will be performing to my tracks along with Ziad Richa, who will be playing the tabla. House of Lebanon is an American Lebanese Community of Artists so there will be different booths of great art for all to see. I look forward to seeing you on this beautiful day. When my songwriting teacher Harriet Schock asked me to perform at her singer songwriter night in Venice Beach this Mother’s Day I said I would love to do that. I will be performing a couple of my songs plus a brand new song. House of Lebanon Event

Hi everyone, I will be performing my bi-lingual songs at the House of Lebanon Annual Picnic May 20th. Yay! This is very exciting news. The event is from 12-6pm and I will be performing to my tracks along with Ziad, who will be playing the tabla. His brother, who is an amazing Lebanese guitar player, will also be playing along with me. I am looking forward to hearing my tracks with a Lebanese twist. Girls Inc

Hi everyone, I wanted to share two new videos with you today. This past week I received an email from Dawn Wiley, Outreach Coordinator for Girls Incorporated (Girls Inc.) of Sarasota County www.girlsincsrq.org. Last summer on my tour to Florida, I went to visit the girls at Girls Inc. and they did an interview with me. They were the sweetest and cutest girls and I was so impressed with how smart they were. Some of them are here in the video.

Girls Inc. is a great organization. It’s a fabulous place for teenage girls to go to after school to learn how to be successful in life. It has a great atmosphere and is a safe and educational place for them to grow. Girls Inc. helps young girls learn about the real world and keeps them on track with their dreams right from the beginning. They study so many things together, one of them being film.

Below are two interviews filmed and edited by the girls which both include my interview with them and an unplugged acoustic performance of my song “This Life” and an acapella version of “I Remember Her Love”. They edited it together and also have different segments of other people they spoke with along with some other things in life that they love. They have the best slogan. STRONG SMART AND BOLD!  Thanks Girls Inc. for having me on your show!

Wow what an amazing shoot! I had the best crew yesterday doing B roll for my 2 new music videos, Blue Sky and Be In Love Again. A full day of shooting. I went shopping all last week and did so much bikram yoga to get into shape. I think I am more tired and sore than I am after yoga class. ) I almost wasn’t sure if we were going to shoot this weekend as it was raining so hard Saturday but it turned out that Sunday was a glorious day. Sunday morning I realized I had forgotten to by a fan but thanks to the Gods, it was so incredibly windy that we didn’t need one. FEW!! Amazing luck!

I want to thank my crew from yesterday in LA. Laura Calcaterra, Makeup Artist/Production Design/Co-Producer www.makeupbylauracalcaterra.com who was amazing and did so much to put this shoot together, Jill Michaels, who helped with just about everything. Thankfully we caught her talents right before she went back to Florida, the very talented Alicia Robbins, DP Website: www.aliciarobbins.com Blog: aliciarobbins.wordpress.com and my husband and Director Joe Plonsky. We all worked so well together. This is how the day went. We shot the footage in our apartment on the rooftop here in LA starting in the bedroom and then onto the rooftop patio and into the night skyline of the city. Here is a still photo from the shoot as a sneak peak.

Stay tuned for the final videos coming soon! I am so excited to share them with you and will let you know as soon as they are done. Of course I want to thank my fans and friends who worked on the first shoot and story line of Blue Sky, Director Mike Vega and many others in Florida who have been patiently waiting for the Blue Sky video to be complete. Thanks for hanging in there. I am so happy to have an East Coast and West Coast Crew!

I love it when a middle-eastern flair is poured into American music; that minor key twist and immediately recognizable touch always adds weight and soul to the music. In her new EP “Be in Love”, Amanda Abizaid really lets her Lebanese half shine through to her songwriting and pulls the audience in with her distinctly beautiful voice. Released in October of last year, the album has a soft, soothing quality to it that meshes itself with sudden bouts of intensity to pull at your heart strings the whole way through.

From the first song, “Be In Love Again”, the pace of the EP is set. She leads the whole way with her enchanting voice and the gentle music accompanies her vibe with soft percussion, gentle strings, and relaxing piano. Then, a restful horn pops in to fill the song out with just the right touch. “Blue Sky” and “I Remember Her Love” come next and they are a perfect exhibition of the Lebanese influence in Amanda Abizaid’s songwriting style. “I Remember Her Love” in particular just makes you want to close your eyes and sway your head to the cadence of her voice, even when she sings in Arabic and you’re not sure exactly what she’s saying, because you know it’s something beautiful and comforting.
